We are living in unprecedented times. Anxiety and fear can enter our hearts and minds at warp speed. Sometimes it slips through subconsciously because we have not protected our inner self from the onslaught of the enemy. Somehow we make basics complicated. We overthink decisions when deep down, we already know the answers. We waste precious time worrying and analyzing the outcome, when we simply need to stand on the Word of God. We need to trust the Creator of the universe. Every star, every cell, every being was created by His hand.

Colossians 1:16-17 says, “For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank of angels-everything got started in Him and finds its purpose in Him. He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment.”

Just like that! God created life and purpose into existence. The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy. We see with our eyes the destruction, division, and anger swirling around our Country, our towns, our cities, and even our homes. That is exactly what the enemy would love for us to remain focused on. He doesn’t have the power to create man from the dust of the earth, because he IS death. He cannot heal one’s heart from destruction, because he IS destruction. He cannot take one’s broken life and restore it, because he IS a thief of all things good. He is not only whispering lies into our ears constantly, He is the liar of all liars. He knows his limitations. But he will do whatever it takes to make himself seem larger than life so that we will live deceived, hopeless, and broken.

Everyone wants to feel they have a purpose on this earth. Suicide rates among those who feel a lack of purpose are far greater than those who walk with purpose. We are ALL created purposefully. It just depends upon the paths we choose to take whether we walk in the fullness of His purpose.

Colossians 1:5 says, “The lines of purpose in your lives never grow slack, tightly tied as they are to your future in heaven, kept taut by HOPE”

Purpose doesn’t loosen or break. Taut by definition is, “pulled tight; not slack”, “concise and controlled”, “having discipline and efficiency”. Thus HOPE is what keeps purpose taut. How many times in our lives do we feel hopeless? Personally, the moment I begin to feel hopeless, I start to fight. I refuse to allow that emotion to remain inside my heart. It is deadly. When we lose hope, we lose purpose. Hope is key to remaining mentally healthy. This is why the breakdown of hope takes us down a slippery slope into darkness. We cannot see a way out. And that my friends, is why the enemy bombards us with lies of being unworthy, invisible, unloved, broken, etc. But the message remains the same.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2

Don’t allow the enemy to steal one more minute of your thought life. Seek Christ and trust He does not change. Our circumstances are ever changing. But He remains the same. You were born with purpose. Hold onto hope and never let it go! The best is yet to come.
